Day Sixteen: Does Good Karma Come to Those Who Wait?

Being humble has always been a trait I’ve revered in other, more

fully evolved peers. It is my belief that, in being humble, one will

automatically attract copious amounts of good karma.

karma (1)

Definition: (Wikipedia):

Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म; IPA: [ˈkarmə] ( ); Pali: kamma) means action,

work or deed;[1] it also refers to the principle of causality where intent and

actions of an individual influence the future of that individual.[2] Good intent

and good deed contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad

intent and bad deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering.[3][4]

Karma is closely associated with the idea of rebirth in some schools of

Asian religions.[5] In these schools, karma in the present affects one’s

future in the current life, as well as the nature and quality of future lives

– or, one’s saṃsāra.[6] With origins in ancient India, it is a key concept in

Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism,[7] and Taoism.[8]

If being humble is revered in our society; why then, does it seem like

the more aggressive bird catches the worm. Does the aggressive bird

then feel consumed with guilt, surrounded by negative karma at the

end of the day? Does the humble bird, soar, wings outstretched flying

with no chains on the airwaves of super-charged karma at the end of

the day? Or does the humble bird have to recover, mending it’s

tattered wings, too tired to fly at the end of the day?

Our society has been encouraging, brainwashing us to believe that it

is a dog eat dog world. That once we have clawed our way up to

he top we have reached the pinnacle of success where we can bathe

in the richness of material wealth and status. Holding our noses up at

the humble birds who flit around somewhere in the middle or at the

There are many signs indicating a silent, loving revolution. Small

gatherings of humble birds are speaking out against the negative

forces. They are flying in groups to try and change the aura of

the universe. To move and create a spiritual, peaceful utopia. To

move away from ego-based thinking and towards love and authenticity.
